Hello All,
Just a few comments. As long as we can safely drive to Oak Flats, we'll have events there all winter. For these winter games, please dress in layers. Remember that cotton kills. Wool, silk, polyester, etc are your friends. If it's cold and sunny, you can still get sunburned. Bring gloves/shooter mittens.
Standard battery chemistries are usually a no go for winter play. You'll want LiPo. Gas guns, for the most part, won't work very well. Spring guns will work. If the temperature goes below zero, you'll want to start thinking about your gearbox, and how it is reinforced, especially guns with V2 gear boxes. If the gun is older, it may not have have radiused corners in the cylinder window, you'll want to check that. Also sorbo pads, if not already on your gun, may be a good idea. If you have questions, please ask in the tech forum on ANM.
We may be getting access to a new field that will be easier to access when Tijeras is covered in snow. From what we know, It has an enclosed building with a wood stove. This is not for sure yet, and we'll let you know full details in the coming weeks. Stay warm, and get ready for some winter airsofting.
