2003年10月，喬治約翰遜成功號召人們用miserable failure(慘敗)這個關(guān)鍵詞做為鏈接文字，鏈接向美國白宮網(wǎng)站布什總統(tǒng)的個人介紹頁。兩個月后，在Google搜索miserable failure的時候，布什的這個個人介紹頁升到第一，搜failure的時候也是第一。

利用谷歌來提升有關(guān)報道的文章或網(wǎng)頁的點(diǎn)擊率，以此讓搜索者能更容易找到這些文章或網(wǎng)頁的方法稱之為谷歌炸彈。

什么是谷歌炸彈?

A Google bomb occurs when a group of people conspire to artificially elevate a website in Google's web search results ranking by linking a particular word or phrase to the website.

一些人密謀一起將一個特定的單詞或短語鏈接到某個網(wǎng)站，人為地提升這個網(wǎng)站在谷歌搜索結(jié)果頁面的排名，這就是谷歌炸彈。

Google moved to curb Google bombs by tweaking their formula for ranking pages by relevancy. The changes limited the ability of relatively small groups to create Google bombs, but it did not end it entirely.

谷歌曾通過關(guān)聯(lián)性來調(diào)整搜索頁面的排序算法，以此來控制谷歌炸彈的出現(xiàn)。這限制了相對較小的團(tuán)體制造谷歌炸彈的能力，但沒能完全杜絕谷歌炸彈的發(fā)生。

Google bombs rely heavily on the influence of PageRank. Some Google bombs are politically motivated while others are done as pranks, and some may have been motivated by ego or self-promotion.

谷歌炸彈非常依賴網(wǎng)頁排名的影響。一些谷歌炸彈有政治動機(jī)，還有一些僅僅是惡作劇，也有一些可能是為了自我推銷。
